Various forms of treatment
Along with the standard adjustments many people are familiar with, WFC also offers flexion-distraction technique, which is a much less invasive form of lower back manipulation. For certain injuries and conditions, it may be more sensible to treat with the gentle movement of flexion-distraction, which opens up individual segments of the lumbar spine and allows for the release of pressure that may be causing sciatic pain or low back discomfort.
With Flexion-distraction, typically there is no “cracking” and minimal pain and discomfort, so the patient can relax, and allow the up and down and side to side movements of the table provide palliative relief.
Electrical Stimulation and therapeutic ultrasound
Electrical stimulation is a modality that has a variety of effects. It is effective for both chronic and acute pain and is excellent at relaxing muscles in spasm. The general principle behind “stim” is increasing blood flow and aiding muscular healing through electrical currents, as the entire body has an electrical component to it. This does not mean that all electricity applied to your body is beneficial, and the electrical currents used with this modality are very carefully observed and controlled.
Electrical stimulation is useful for increasing range of motion, decreasing muscle spasm, slowing muscle atrophy, relieving pain, and draining the lymphatic system, just to name a few purposes.
Therapeutic ultrasound is a useful tool for increasing circulation to an area through the use of soundwaves. This high frequency treatment helps to break up adhesions within muscle tissue and can stimulate tissue to quickly heal sprains, strains and tendinitis.
activator technique and Cupping
Activator technique, which delivers a steady, gentle impulse that is consistent each and every time, is a great form of treatment for children and the elderly, as it ensures too little or too much pressure is never applied to an area. Essentially, the adjustment is “built in” to the activator tool so that once the desired area is palpated, the tool does the work of the adjustment.
Cupping is a very old technique that forces areas of the body to purposely develop light bruising. With this technique, increased circulation is the desired result and regeneration is a bi-product of the therapy. For most people, cupping is perfectly safe, however it may prove to be quite a conversation topic when out in public. Warwick Family Chiropractic practices dry cupping only, with suction pressure; no heat or fire is used.

Rock Tape Athletic Taping
Athletic tape keeps you moving properly while you are performing physical challenges on a day to day basis. Rock Tape is a specialized tape that acts like a soft brace to keep any problematic area of concern or injury stabilized during your activity (working out, golf, tennis, swimming, running, so on and so forth). The tape is designed to last several days and is able to survive strenuous activity while limiting the amount of myofacial pain you may experience from certain movements.
